A NEW DOGGIE-SITTER
Mommy went on vacation, again! I didn’t get to go. She took a giant flying bird and thought I would be more comfortable at home. I’ve never been on a giant flying bird. She explained that I would have stay in a crate and ride in the bird’s belly. That idea was a little too scary for me. Why would a bird want to eat me? Mommy left early in the morning and I pouted all day. I stayed on our bed staring out of the window. Every once in a while I would get up and make the bed more comfortable by pulling down the covers and re-arranging the pillows. The time dragged by when I perked up to footsteps at the front door. It was my grandma, Caco! She came over to visit me. I was so excited that I could hardly control myself. I remembered that I should not jump up on Caco. That scares her because it usually knocks her into a wall. Caco took me out to run around in the backyard and played ball with me. We got along great. I listened to her so that she would want to come back and play with me. She didn’t seem to like it very much when after finishing my business I kicked up and covered her with grass clippings. “Simba!” she would say sternly but then would start to laugh. She gave me my medicine for a nasty bee sting or spider bite that I got on my bottom lip. I happily took my medicine because she put it into a pill pocket which was sooo yummy! Caco sat in the kitchen with me for a good long while so that I would eat. She read magazines as I chomped on my food. I would take a couple of mouthfuls and then glance back to see if she was still sitting there. This made a little bit of a mess on the floor because the food would fall out of my mouth every time I glanced back. Caco would even let me keep the blue ball to play with for a while when we came back inside, even mom told her not too. However, she quickly learned why mommy told her to put the ball up once we were done playing catch.
- Mommy brought me a new rain coat from Wyoming. This one keeps my head dry too.
Yup, it ended up in little tiny pieces all over the living room. I think she felt bad that balls are made so poorly these days. The next day, she showed up with a brand new orange ball. It was different than the one I had. I took time to explore it. She must have misunderstood this and thought I didn’t like it because the day after, she brought a brand new blue ball. Caco and I had a great time getting to know each other and now we are the best of friends. I still missed mommy but I wasn’t so lonely. Mommy missed me too but she said she didn’t have to worry about me not eating or being alone all day. I love my thoughtful mommy and how much she loves me.

Aww poor you, getting a nasty bite on your lip! Hope your all better now!
Simba is hilarious…my son – Troy loved the “flying bird” part. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much for visiting us. It made our day to hear from you!
Mommy said it looked like a was holding a big walnut under my lip so she took me to the nice lady that gives me treats. Her name is “Vet”. Since it was so itchy and swollen and mommy was going out of town, she decided to give me medicine that went inside those so yummmy treats. Thank you for taking the time to visit.
