Puppy Sister Took My Spot

Puppy Sister Took My Spot

First night home for Gypsy and it was time for bed.  I laid on mum’s left side as I alwayspuppy sleeping do.  I like to stretch out right up against her under the covers and my head on my pillow.  Mum has her pillow and I have my own pillow.  This is how I have been falling asleep for eight years.  Last night, my puppy sister wanted my spot!  Mum would pick her up and lay her on the other side of her.  I would get all comfy under the blanket and suddenly boom!  Something would pounce on me making me jump.  Gypsy would plop down on my spot looking as comfy as can be.  This scenario repeated itself over and over all night.  No one got any sleep, not even mum.  This morning Gypsy jumped off the bed.  Mum jumped off running behind her and picking puppy sister up.  The whole time mum is running she is shaking her head.  She had Gypsy in one hand and kept fussing with her hair with the other hand.  When she finally got us all outside and put Gypsy down; I saw what was bothering her.  Last night, in order to get Gypsy to stay on her side of the bed, mom gave her a chew bone.  It was actually a bully stick and we all know what part of the moo moo that is.  This morning mum had a long bully stick hanging out of her head.  It was all tangled up in her curly hair and since it had dried up that way, it was really stuck.  It took some doing for her to get it out.   She had to stick her head under running water in the kitchen sink.  I had to laugh as mum shouted, “This is just great! I have a stinky pe___ stuck in my hair!  Seriously

About Simba's Mom

I was born and raised in California, lived in Pennsylvania for several years, and have recently moved to Delaware. I have gone from being a teacher for 20 years to a blogger and now back to teaching but still blogging. I have a great dog named Simba. Simba is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Life with Simba is an adventure every day. I have had dogs my entire life but I have learned most about dogs living with Simba. German Shorthaired Pointers really do become your best friend. They become extremely attached and that is why they say they have the Velcro phenomenon. Simba now has a sister 8 years younger and her name is Gypsy.
