Simba vs Robot Vacuum Cleaner

german shoI have one of those robot vacuum cleaners to help clean after these three GSPs.  Actually, I have two robot vacuums programed for different times of the day.  Since Simba, Gypsy, and Luna have use of a doggy door all day, they drag in enormous amount of sand.  Here in Delaware, we have more sand than dirt in our yards. I prefer the sand over dirt because it’s not as dirty or muddy but it does ruin the laminate on flooring faster.  My friends always ask how I trained my pups to not be bothered by the vacuums.  All three of my ladies have never had an issue with these roaming robot vacuum cleaners. They don’t seem to notice them as they roam the house.  Gypsy will move out of the way once it bumps into her.  Simba has stood her ground when bumped, but lately she has figured out that she can just shut it down by standing on it (as in the picture). Luna is always in motion herself so it’s a game of tag.  I have to admit that these robot vacuum cleaners have been help and time saver for me.  I usually just buy a cheaper one that can be programmed because none seem to last for more than two years, no matter the price.  Maybe, it’s the amount of sand and hair these poor things are exposed to on a daily basis. Life would be difficult to go back to sweeping several times a day.  My favorite one has been I-Life.  Now, I only have to give the floors one weekly deep cleaning; what a great invention!

About Simba's Mom

I was born and raised in California, lived in Pennsylvania for several years, and have recently moved to Delaware. I have gone from being a teacher for 20 years to a blogger and now back to teaching but still blogging. I have a great dog named Simba. Simba is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Life with Simba is an adventure every day. I have had dogs my entire life but I have learned most about dogs living with Simba. German Shorthaired Pointers really do become your best friend. They become extremely attached and that is why they say they have the Velcro phenomenon. Simba now has a sister 8 years younger and her name is Gypsy.
