Simba’s Favorite Activity

One of Simba’s favorite activity is riding in the car.  When she sees that I take my keys along she gets all excited.  She runs to the car, whimpering and jumping up and down.  Sometimes I just let her in and drive her around the block.  She’s always happy with that.  She’s a great passenger.  I made sure to train her from when she was just 8 weeks old.  I would take her out for a ride at least once a week. Image of German Shorthaired Pointer riding in the car. She prefers the front seat.  If the car is in motion she sits up without fussing.  She is seat belted for her own protection.  If I have to quickly run in for an errand she waits calmly not moving from her spot.  She know which drive thru windows provide treats for doggie passengers.  The bank is one of them.  This is the only time when she insists standing on my lap and sticks her head out of the window making sure that they notice she is there.  She also preferred the jeep over the mini cooper but doesn’t complain.

About Simba's Mom

I was born and raised in California, lived in Pennsylvania for several years, and have recently moved to Delaware. I have gone from being a teacher for 20 years to a blogger and now back to teaching but still blogging. I have a great dog named Simba. Simba is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Life with Simba is an adventure every day. I have had dogs my entire life but I have learned most about dogs living with Simba. German Shorthaired Pointers really do become your best friend. They become extremely attached and that is why they say they have the Velcro phenomenon. Simba now has a sister 8 years younger and her name is Gypsy.
